Lynn M. Karr, DDS
Dr. Karr is proud to be the owner, founder, and Dentist Officer in Charge of Pediatric Dental Care, Inc. She has over 25 years of experience, and to this day, her favorite part of her job is being able to make kids smile and feel comfortable, especially whenever they feel fearful or anxious before their appointments. She also takes an education-focused approach to dental health and enjoys spending time educating kids on oral hygiene, healthy eating, and the mouth-body connection! Why Did You Decide to Become a Pediatric Dentist?
Dr. Karr knew she wanted to become a dentist her first year in college. She has always loved science and art, helping people, and working with her hands, so it seemed like a perfect fit. While in dental school, she fell in love with pediatric dentistry after a trip to Amish Acres during an outreach program, and the rest is history!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Karr completed her undergraduate studies in nutrition at Purdue University in West Lafayette (where she graduated top 10%!) before attending Indiana University School of Dentistry. Following dental school, she then earned her Pediatric Dentist Specialist Certification from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Today, she’s proud to be a Fellow of the American Laser Study Club and regularly serves her community by participating in outreach programs in underserved areas like Amish Acres, Indiana.
She also regularly pursues continuing education every year, including at the renowned Pankey Institute. Dr. Karr remains an active member of the:

- Chicago Dental Society
- Northwest Indiana Dental Society
- Academy of Laser Dentistry
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Karr is married to her high school sweetheart, and she’s a native of Northwest Indiana, originally from Munster! She’s also a mother of two beautiful and busy daughters (ages 15 and 20) and a dog, who you may see at the office every now and again, named Indy. Over 18 years ago, she opened up her practice near her childhood hometown where she grew up, so she could raise her family in the community that helped her flourish.
Whenever Dr. Karr isn’t at the office, she enjoys reading, hiking, and exercising, especially doing yoga. She also enjoys learning about functional medicine. You can find her traveling to tennis tournaments with her youngest daughter or visiting her eldest in B-Town! Graduating a Purdue Boilermaker, it was a tough divide!
An interesting fact about Dr. Karr is that she’s a lefty, and people tell her that she’s a natural educator!
